I’m not too sure if anybody actually walks into a travel agency anymore, it seems that a lot of travel business is getting done online–and with the top travel sites dealing with millions of customers each year, the numbers agree.
I have been doing a lot of traveling over the last couple of years, and have become quite fond of online travel booking. The best travel sites in my opinion would have to be Travelocity and Expedia, and I tend to float between them.
I have also constructed a list of top travel sites, this is a list that I will always refer to when I am going to be taking a longer trip i.e. I will be spending more money and want to shop around for the best price.
The great thing about these discount travel sites is that they actually run sort of like a middle man between airlines, hotels, resorts and the customer–so if for example, an airline has a lot of spare seats on a certain flight, they can list those tickets for a discounted rate on Travelocity or some like travel website.
As you will see below I have a fair few sites marked out below. I try to rank them in a sort of top 10 fashion depending on user rating, so if you want simply click on one of the stars to vote for the top travel site and the list will rearrange accordingly.
